External borrowing accounted for $2.9 billion, or 85.5% of the total public debt, while domestic debt amounted to approximately $490.4 million, or 14.5%.

Since the beginning of the year, Tajikistan’s public debt has decreased by about $100 million. The debt-to-GDP ratio fell from 19.7% to 16%, a decline of 3.7 percentage points.

Of this amount, $230.1 million was used to repay the principal, while $40.2 million was paid in interest.

The Ministry of Finance said the government was meeting its financial obligations in line with the approved schedule and had no overdue debts to international financial institutions or foreign governments.
