A Tajik surgeon has been recognized at the inaugural International Bridge Awards in Moscow, receiving top honors for his contributions to medicine and healthcare innovation.
The First International Bridge Awards, also known as the “Bridge of Friendship” Awards, recognize outstanding contributions to strengthening cultural and business ties with Russia. The ceremony, held in the Russian capital, brought together participants from more than 40 countries, with winners announced across 12 categories.
Among the recipients was doctor Muboraksho Muborakshoyev, a surgeon and Candidate of Sciences in Medicine, who won the award in the “Medicine and New Health Preservation Technologies”category.
The category recognizes professionals who have made significant contributions to disease prevention, diagnosis, and treatment, as well as to the development of medical technologies, equipment, and pharmaceuticals.
Doctor Muborakshoyev is a leading surgeon at Polyclinic No. 1of theFamily Doctor medical network in Moscow. With 24 years of professional experience, he specializes in both conservative and surgical treatment, performing a wide range of outpatient procedures in proctology and phlebology. His areas of expertise include the treatment of arthrosis, arthritis, paraproctitis, phimosis, gonarthrosis, and other conditions.
He graduated from the Tajik State Medical University named after Abu Ali ibn Sina in Dushanbe in 1986. He later completed advanced professional training in surgery at the Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia in 2015, followed by additional training in pediatric surgery at the Educational StandardCenter for Continuing Professional Education in 2019 and further professional development in 2020.
Doctor Muborakshoyev is also a member of the Russian Society of Surgeons and the Russian Association of Pediatric Surgeons.
About the Bridge Awards
According to the organizers, 108 nominees from 41 countries competed for this year’s awards. The nominees represented a broad range of fields, including business, science, education, culture, and civil society, with each recognized for projects that promote regional development, professional collaboration, and international cooperation.
The awards aim to recognize the contributions of foreign nationals and repatriates to the development of Moscow and Russia, strengthen Russia’s image as a destination of opportunity for international professionals, and foster humanitarian, cultural, and business ties.
The initiative was launched by the Bridge Club public-business platform with the support of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Moscow Department for External Economic and International Relations, and the Moscow Center for International Cooperation. The Agency for Strategic Initiatives serves as the awards’ strategic partner.
Speaking at the ceremony, Sergey Cheremin, head of Moscow’s Department for External Economic and International Relations, said the city continues to pursue a strategy of public and city diplomacy through cultural exchange and professional cooperation.

Today’s award recognizes the significant contribution of foreign citizens and repatriates to the development of our capital and the country as a whole.”
