Tajik President Emomali Rahmon approved a series of personnel changes across the country’s ministries, government agencies and security forces on July 30.
According to the president’s official website, young specialists who have graduated from two or more higher military educational institutions in Tajikistan and abroad were appointed to head several departments and military units within the Ministry of Defense.
With the president’s approval, the chief military recruitment officers of the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO), as well as the cities of Kulob, Bokhtar, Vahdat, Levakant, Istaravshan, Konibodom and Guliston, were replaced.
Personnel changes also affected the military registration and enlistment offices of Spitamen, Mastchoh, Ayni, Shahriston, Vose, Kushoniyon, Khurosон, Temurmalik, Qubodiyon, Rasht, Lakhsh and Fayzobod districts.
The official statement did not provide the names of the newly appointed military commissars.
Changes were also made to the senior command of the Border Troops under Tajikistan’s State Committee for National Security (SCNS).
New officials were appointed to head the Border Troops Directorate in GBAO, command several border detachments and lead departments within the Border Troops’ central administration.
The appointees were described as specialists with a high level of professional training and the management skills required for their new positions.
Changes in the National Guard
Fathiddin Sadullozoda was appointed head of the National Guard’s Personnel Training Center, replacing Olim Rahimzoda. The official announcement did not specify Sadullozoda’s previous position.
Fayzullo Nabizoda was dismissed as commander of the National Guard’s First Special Rapid Reaction Brigade. He was replaced by Abdusalom Odinazoda, who previously commanded the Second Special Rapid Reaction Brigade.
Nusratullo Kamolzoda was appointed commander of the Second Special Rapid Reaction Brigade. His previous position was not disclosed.
Hasan Mahmadalizoda, who had commanded the National Guard’s Special Commandant Brigade since February 2024, was also relieved of his post.
The authorities did not announce Mahmadalizoda’s next appointment or name his successor.
During a meeting with the newly appointed officials, Rahmon instructed them to strengthen military discipline, comply strictly with service regulations and maintain the combat readiness of the Armed Forces and other security units.
