President Japarov makes unscheduled visit to Bishkek Arena construction site
AKIPRESS.COM – President Sadyr Japarov paid an unannounced visit to the under-construction Bishkek Arena multifunctional sports complex on May 30 and reviewed the progress of the project, the president’s press service said.
The head of state was informed that construction of the stadium is proceeding according to the approved schedule.
At present, construction, installation, and finishing works are ongoing at the site. Engineering systems are being installed, and landscaping of the surrounding area is underway.
During the visit, Japarov inspected the stadium’s interior facilities and reviewed the progress of the parking infrastructure and commercial facilities being built as part of the project.
The President emphasized the special importance of Bishkek Arena for the further development of the country’s sports infrastructure and for expanding opportunities to host international-level competitions.
He instructed officials to ensure high-quality construction work and to complete the project within the established timeframe.
Japarov also highlighted the importance of creating the infrastructure necessary for the efficient operation of the complex after it is commissioned. In this regard, he noted the practicality of placing retail and service businesses on part of the stadium grounds, as their activities would help support the maintenance and further development of the complex.
With a capacity of 51,000 spectators, Bishkek Arena will become the largest football stadium in Kyrgyzstan. The facility is being built in accordance with FIFA and AFC international standards, creating conditions for the country to host major international matches and tournaments.
