Pensions in Kyrgyzstan to increase by 20% from October 1

AKIPRESS.COM – Another pension indexation will take place in Kyrgyzstan from October 1, 2026. The insurance part of pensions will be increased by 20%, Chairman of the Social Fund Baktiyar Aliev told journalists.

According to him, the minimum pension will reach 8,800 soms.

Aliev explained that the increase is calculated only based on the insurance portion of the pension, excluding the basic portion guaranteed by the state.

For example, if pension amounts to 13,170 soms, 3,170 soms are basic portion, and 10,000 soms – insurance. The indexation applies specifically to the insurance portion of the pension: 20% of 10,000 soms amounts to 2,000 soms. Thus, after the increase, the pension payment will rise by 2,000 soms.

According to the head of the Social Fund, pensioners can use the same method to independently calculate the amount by which their pension will increase from October 1.
