OTS Secretary General welcomes Kyrgyzstan’s election to UN Security Council
AKIPRESS.COM – The Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States Kubanychbek Omuraliev has welcomed the election of the Kyrgyz Republic as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council for the 2027-2028 term.
“This remarkable achievement reflects the confidence of the international community in the Kyrgyz Republic’s constructive engagement, responsible diplomacy, and steadfast commitment to the purposes and principles of the United Nations,” the OTS Secretary General stated.
The Kyrgyz Republic has consistently promoted dialogue, cooperation, and multilateralism at both the regional and international levels, he added.
“I am confident that the Kyrgyz Republic will make a valuable contribution to the work of the Security Council and to international efforts aimed at maintaining peace, security, and cooperation worldwide,” he stressed.
The OTS Secretary General reaffirmed his full support for the Kyrgyz Republic “as it undertakes this important responsibility” and wished it every success during its tenure on the Security Council.
