Foreign Ministers of Mongolia and Croatia hold official talks
AKIPRESS.COM – Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia Battsetseg Batmunkh held official talks with Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of Croatia Gordan Grlić Radman, the Mongolian Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported.
The Ministers exchanged views on expanding relations and cooperation between Mongolia and Croatia, particularly in the fields of trade, economy, tourism, education, and culture.
Minister Batmunkh presented Mongolia’s long-term development policy and its main goals. She also discussed cooperation with Croatia on implementing Mongolia’s national “One Billion Trees” movement and the “Presidential Scholar – 2100” scholarship program.
Both Ministers emphasized the importance of strengthening multilateral cooperation to resolve common global challenges, such as climate change, desertification, land degradation, and food security. They agreed to work closely together in these areas.
This objective included discussions on cooperation within the framework of the “International Year of Rangelands and Pastoralists” in 2026 and the 17th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification, which will take place in Ulaanbaatar next year.
The parties reaffirmed their commitment to expanding humanitarian exchanges, which serve as a vital link between Mongolia and Croatia. In particular, they aimed to deepen cooperation on student exchanges through mutual scholarships for studies in both countries.
They also confirmed their dedication to strengthening cooperation within the United Nations and other international organizations and exchanged views on several international relations issues. The Foreign Ministers subsequently released a press statement following their official talks.
