Embezzlement of almost 9 million soms uncovered at Osh City Education Department

AKIPRESS.COM – The State National Security Committee has uncovered a corruption scheme at the Osh City Education Department.

On August 11, Committee Chairman Kamchybek Tashiev had stated during a special equipment handover ceremony in Osh that there were established facts of embezzlement and misappropriation of funds by officials within the Osh City Education Department.

According to the investigation, the former accountant of the Osh City Education Department conspired with the heads of several schools.

He allegedly made illegal payments of salaries and other benefits to employees of M. Frunze secondary school No. 24, “Kerme-Too” secondary school No. 42, Y. Gagarin secondary school No. 17, “Olymp” school-gymnasium, A. Navoi school-lyceum No. 18, and Kyrgyz-Turkish Friendship school No. 52.

The preliminary damage is estimated at 8,940,684 soms. An investigation is underway.
