Death toll in Iran rises to 787 following U.S. and Israeli military strikes
AKIPRESS.COM – The number of fatalities resulting from U.S. and Israeli military operations in Iran has climbed to 787, Al Jazeera reported citing the Iranian Red Crescent.
Data indicates that approximately 1,039 strikes have targeted 153 different areas across the country, causing significant damage to at least 504 facilities. The military campaign, which began on February 28, 2026, led to the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei.
As of March 2, the Red Crescent had initially estimated the death toll at 555, but the figure has continued to rise as search and rescue operations expand. To manage the ongoing humanitarian crisis and provide emergency assistance to the affected regions, authorities have mobilized approximately 100,000 personnel. International observers remain deeply concerned as the scale of destruction across urban and strategic centers continues to be assessed by local relief organizations.
