July 30, Colombo (LNW): The Colombo Magistrate’s Court has scheduled October 29 as the next hearing date in the money laundering case filed against SLPP MP Namal Rajapaksa under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act.
When the matter was taken up before the Magistrate, Rajapaksa appeared in court along with the other accused in the case.
During the proceedings, the court directed the investigating authorities to submit a progress report on the ongoing inquiry when the case is recalled later this year. The Magistrate fixed October 29 for both the submission of the updated investigation report and the continuation of proceedings.
The case relates to allegations brought against Rajapaksa under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act.
