The Minister of Information for the Greater Pibor Administrative Area says two people have been killed in an ambush on the outskirts of Jebel Boma County.
Minister Jacob Werchum says unidentified attackers ambushed and killed the two people on the outskirts of the county.
Speaking to Eye Radio this afternoon, Werchum said the attackers fled the scene after the incident.
“The circumstances surrounding the attacks remain unknown. Security forces in the area were dispatched to calm the situation, conduct an investigation into this incident and identify the source from which these criminals are coming,” he said.
Minister Werchum said preliminary investigations indicate that footprints found at the scene appeared to lead towards Kuron in Kapoeta East County, Eastern Equatoria State.
Authorities in Kapoeta East County and the Eastern Equatoria State government have yet to comment.
