President Salva Kiir Mayardit has met his Kenyan counterpart, William Samoei Ruto, at State House in Nairobi, where the two leaders discussed strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries.

According to President Ruto, the leaders expressed satisfaction with the strong relations between Kenya and South Sudan and agreed to continue creating more opportunities for trade and investment for their citizens.

Ruto also thanked President Kiir for South Sudan’s participation in last week’s launch of the Dangote East Africa Refinery in Lamu.

He commended South Sudan for its plans to hold General Elections in December 2026, saying Kenya stands ready to support the process while encouraging dialogue and consensus among all political parties.
