Kiir hosts Miss World|Courtesy

President Salva Kiir Mayardit has encouraged Miss World South Sudan, Nyandeng Kerubino Kuanrin Bol, to proudly represent the country’s culture, diversity and resilience when she competes at the 75th Miss World pageant in Vietnam later this month.

According to the Office of the President, Kiir met Nyandeng at the State House in Juba on Monday ahead of the international competition, which runs from 9 August to 5 September.

The President congratulated Nyandeng on earning the opportunity to represent South Sudan on one of the world’s biggest global stages and commended her for carrying the aspirations of the country’s youth.

The Office of the President said Kiir urged the beauty queen to remain confident and disciplined, stressing that she carries the hopes of many South Sudanese. He also encouraged her to showcase the nation’s rich culture, diversity and resilience while promoting a positive image of the country abroad.

Kiir further called on Nyandeng to use the Miss World platform to inspire young women across South Sudan, reminding her that true beauty is reflected in compassion, service and leadership.

Nyandeng was accompanied by Mr. World South Sudan, Amac Mathiang Ater Apuk, National Director of the Miss World South Sudan Organization, Mary Nyamu Ruot Machar, and Chairperson of the South Sudan Women’s Union, Nyalang Dhal Dhal.

According to the Office of the President, the Miss World competition focuses on purpose, leadership and social impact alongside beauty, bringing together contestants from around the world to champion humanitarian causes and cultural exchange.
