Kiir appoints new NBS Board chaired by former Finance Minister

President Salva Kiir Mayardit has appointed a new Board of Directors for the National Bureau of Statistics, NBS, headed by former Finance Minister Dr. Dier Tong Ngor as Chairperson.

The appointment was made through Republican Order issued on Monday, September 7.

Other members of the board include Angelo Ugwaag Wod Arun, Gatwech Koak Nyuon, Nyantiop Martha Agoot, Paulo Debor Landit Dieng, Abugo Charles Joseph Abate.

Others are Professor Venansio Tombe Muludiang, Merekaje Lorna Nanjia, and Ocum Genes Karlo.

NBS Director General Dr. Augustino Ting Mayai will serve as an ex-officio member.

The Office of the President says the appointment takes immediate effect.

The appointment comes as the statistics agency continues to play a key role in providing official data for national planning, policymaking and development
