South Korea’s recent losses in Canada and Poland show that major naval procurements are placing greater weight on political trust, long-term military cooperation and industrial ties alongside price, delivery and platform performance.

Canada’s selection of Germany’s TKMS as the preferred supplier for the Canadian Patrol Submarine Project reinforced that shift.
