South Korea on Thursday launched a permanent public-private body to shape industrial and resource security policy, saying the war in Iran exposed vulnerabilities that require a more comprehensive approach to preparing for supply disruptions. Industry Minister Kim Jung-kwan convened the inaugural Industrial and Resource Security Strategy Meeting, bringing together industry representatives and outside experts to accelerate work on a Basic Plan for Resource Security and a Critical Minerals Stockpiling Plan under the Special Act on National Resource Security.
