Former Miss Universe Nigeria winner Chidimma Adetshina – who stepped down from the Miss South Africa pageant – has used the streets of Sea Point as a fashion runway, as seen on her social media accounts.
The South African-born model has made headlines in recent months over allegations of identity fraud and a criminal investigation by the Department of Home Affairs (DHA)
Last year, the DHA confirmed that her Malawian mother, Anabela Rungo, had illegally registered her birth in South Africa, and that her Nigerian father was not a South African citizen. Her mother has since been arrested for contravening the Immigration Act and the Identification Act.
CHIDIMMA ADETSHINA MODELS IN SEA POINT, CAPE TOWN
In several social media posts and clips, Chidimma Adetshina seemingly gave the middle finger to South African critics after posing up a storm in Cape Town, amid a criminal investigation.
The 23-year-old was seen striking a pose on a street in Sea Point, not far from her family home in Summer Greens.
She captioned the post: “Sometimes you need to pause, realign, and pour into yourself. The best version of you requires peace, patience, and private progress. I’ve been working, learning, unlearning, and becoming.
She added: “The glow hits different when it’s from within.”
In another post, Chidmma seemingly teased her critics, adding: “You thought I was done? Naaa, the runway’s just getting cleared!”.
WHAT NEXT?
While her reign as Miss Universe Nigeria has officially come to an end, Chidimma Adetshina still holds the title of Miss Universe Africa and Oceania, and was the first runner-up at the Miss Universe 2024.
The international pageant will take place on 21 November in Thailand.
Previously, Chidimma revealed her plans to launch a career in the Nigerian entertainment industry. However, that may be up in the air after a fallout with Nigerian pageant organisers and her return to South Africa.
