Its signature Ocean Dreams overnight programme returns as a luxurious glamping experience with an educational twist
[SINGAPORE] Singapore Oceanarium visitors will soon be able to sleep beneath the ocean’s quiet and cosy blue again, as silhouettes of sharks and rays glide overhead.
The Oceanarium is relaunching its signature Ocean Dreams overnight programme, which will run across four select weekends between November and December. It now returns as a luxurious glamping experience that aims to provide an “immersive educational journey into the wonders of marine life, conservation and ocean science”, said the organisation.
Beginning in the tranquil after-hours and without the usual buzzing crowds, guests will be led by tour guides across millions of years of marine history through the Oceanarium’s themed zones. It’s a journey that spans the entire spectrum of oceanic wonders, from intimate close-ups with ethereally elegant jellyfish and fingernail-cleansing cleaner shrimp, to grand encounters with imposing animatronic prehistoric animals and awe-inspiring sharks.

After a gourmet buffet dinner, glampers will be led to the programme highlight – the Open Ocean Zone, where they will spend the night. The zone is a massive 18-million-litre habitat with a 36-metre viewing panel, through which they can observe a variety of majestic species, including guitarfish, groupers, and reef manta rays, which are the Oceanarium’s largest animals.
Set against this stunning backdrop are the glamping tents, which feature air mattresses, air-conditioning, charging access and even a loaded drinks and snacks basket. Guests can choose from two tent types. The Signature tents cost S$1,800 and can accommodate up to four people. The Deluxe tent is priced at S$3,800 – it accommodates up to eight people, and offers a 270-degree view of the Open Ocean habitat along with a private lounge area, kids’ activity corner and hot beverage station.

Singapore Oceanarium maintains that “the spirit of immersive learning and ocean conservation remains the focus for Ocean Dreams”. Along the way, participants will get to learn about the sea ecosystem, from the functions played by creatures such as plankton and coral to phenomena such as whale fall.
