The United States Embassy in Freetown is looking to build stronger ties with Sierra Leone through cultural preservation.

Public Affairs Officer Jackie Moore recently met with Joseph Kaifala, Chairman of the Monument and Relics Commission, and Olivette Barnette, curator at the National Museum. They discussed ways the US can work with the National Museum to protect and promote Sierra Leone’s cultural heritage.

The US Embassy said both countries share a deep history, and partnerships like this bring benefits to both sides. They added that combining American experience in preserving history with Sierra Leone’s local knowledge can lead to strong results.

The Embassy said it looks forward to continuing the partnership and building stronger connections between the two nations.
