Sierra Leone’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Mohamed Rahman Swaray, has held high-level bilateral talks with Libya’s Acting Foreign Minister, Taher Al-Baour, on the sidelines of the 81st United Nations General Assembly.

The meeting provided an opportunity for the two countries to discuss matters of mutual interest and explore avenues for strengthening bilateral relations and cooperation.

The engagement forms part of Sierra Leone’s wider diplomatic activities during UNGA 81, as the country engages international partners on issues of shared interest and global cooperation.

Libya’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed the meeting on September 20, 2026, as part of its diplomatic engagements in New York.
