Zacharia Jalloh, Ministry of Information and Civic Education
Sierra Leone’s Minister of Information and Civic Education, Chernor Bah, has reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and open governance through the continued publication of Cabinet Conclusions.
Speaking during the weekly government press briefing, the Minister stated that President Dr. Julius Maada Bio remains dedicated to ensuring that citizens are kept informed about major government policies, decisions, and actions affecting national development.
According to Minister Bah, the regular release of Cabinet Conclusions forms part of government’s broader efforts to strengthen public trust and promote citizen participation in governance.
Among the key outcomes from the Cabinet meeting held on 6th May 2026 was the approval of proposed amendments to sections of the Work Permit Act 2023.
The Minister explained that the proposed amendments are intended to align the legislation with the fully digitized work permit system that officially became operational in January 2026.
He noted that the digitisation process is aimed at improving efficiency, transparency, and accountability in the issuance and management of work permits in Sierra Leone.
Minister Bah further emphasised that government remains committed to modernising public service delivery and implementing reforms that support ease of doing business, strengthen institutional systems, and improve governance processes across the country.
The weekly government press briefing continues to serve as a platform for updates on Cabinet decisions, government programmes, and national policy directions.
