The Quimanora Foundation executive team recently paid a courtesy visit to Africell Sierra Leone as part of their preparations for the Foundation’s upcoming Sponsored Health Walk. The delegation was led by Grand Chief Mohamed Sahid Bangura, alongside Vice Grand Chief Moi Kamara, Deputy Secretary General Kamanda Koroma, and Public Relations Officer Abdul Aziz Kamara. Africell’s Corporate Operating Officer Malek El Kousaa and Chief Commercial Officer Kamil Sarkis warmly received the visitors.
Established in 2013 as an alumni organization of former Fourah Bay College students, the Quimanora Foundation is a charitable, not-for-profit company dedicated to giving back to society. Over the years, the Foundation has actively responded to major national crises, including the 2015 Ebola pandemic, the 2018 Mudslide, and the COVID-19 outbreak. While education remains its primary focus, the Foundation also champions national health initiatives.
During the visit, Public Relations Officer Abdul Aziz Kamara praised Africell for its exemplary corporate social responsibility and development efforts nationwide. Kamara emphasized the alignment between the Foundation’s goals and Africell’s commitment to societal development, expressing the importance of joining forces with the leading mobile network provider in Sierra Leone.
“The decision to collaborate with Africell was straightforward given their dedication to giving back to society,” Kamara stated. The visit also served as an official invitation to Africell’s top management to participate in the Foundation’s fundraising event.
The Sponsored Health Walk, scheduled for Saturday, 22nd November, will commence at 7:00 AM from Bottom Mango, Wilberforce, and culminate at Leicester Peak. The event aims to raise awareness about the national drug abuse epidemic and generate funds to support drug sensitisation programs and the rehabilitation of affected youths.
Through this partnership, the Quimanora Foundation hopes to amplify its impact on addressing Sierra Leone’s drug abuse challenges by leveraging Africell’s influential presence and resources.
