The Serbian Chamber of Commerce and Orion Telekom develop Serbian AI model using NVIDIA technologySerbian Monitor

Orion Telekom and the Serbian Chamber of Commerce have signed a memorandum of cooperation launching the development of a Serbian business language model based on the NVIDIA Nemotron architecture. The model is intended to understand the Serbian language, both Cyrillic and Latin scripts, domestic business terminology, the regulatory framework, and the specific characteristics of various industries.

The memorandum was signed by Marko Čadež, President of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, and Slobodan Đinović, founder and director of Orion Telekom, in the presence of Carlo Ruiz, NVIDIA’s Vice President for Enterprise Solutions & Operations for the EMEA region.

Čadež stated that the goal of the project is to develop a series of domestic business AI models tailored to the needs of the Serbian economy. According to him, artificial intelligence delivers the greatest value when it connects multiple processes, systems, and decisions into a unified workflow, rather than merely accelerating individual tasks such as writing emails or summarising documents.

He emphasised that the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, which brings together more than 130,000 companies from sectors such as banking, telecommunications, pharmaceuticals, energy, and the food industry, has the task of transforming the new infrastructure and models into a concrete competitive advantage for the domestic economy.

Čadež assessed that the presence of a senior NVIDIA representative at the signing of the memorandum signals that Serbia has been recognised as an important destination for artificial intelligence development and that the project follows global technological standards. He also recalled that Orion’s first AI factory was opened in February, describing it as the first commercial sovereign AI infrastructure in South East Europe, equipped with the latest NVIDIA chips, with the aim of ensuring that data from Serbia remains within the country.

Đinović said that the memorandum creates opportunities for the development of a range of smaller specialised AI models intended for domestic and regional companies, as well as for the further expansion of Orion Telekom’s business operations.

He added that the company had submitted an initiative to the Serbian Government for the construction of a national AI factory, estimated to be worth around €800 million. According to him, the investment could generate benefits of approximately €2.5 billion and encourage the development of new revenue streams and jobs in the field of artificial intelligence.

Following the signing of the agreement, Carlo Ruiz held an exclusive executive masterclass at the Serbian Chamber of Commerce entitled AI & the Future of Business, intended for leading representatives of Serbia’s business community.
