The 5th Fine Line Film Fest starts soonSerbian Monitor

The fifth edition of the Fine Line Film Fest, an international short film festival, will take place from 18 to 20 September at the MTS Dvorana.

This year’s edition will once again bring together films, filmmakers, and audiences from Serbia, the region, and across the globe, featuring a programme dedicated to the short film format and contemporary directorial voices.

Across the three days of the festival, audiences can look forward to 23 short films split into two competition categories—the international Beyond Borders and the regional Made in Balkan –alongside Q&A sessions with directors and film crews.

This year’s lineup gathers films across various genres, sensibilities, and creative approaches, ranging from titles screened at festivals in Cannes, Berlin, Locarno, and Sarajevo, to emerging voices from the region and worldwide. Beyond Borders features 11 films by international directors, while Made in Balkan showcases 12 works from Serbia and the surrounding region. Through a range of cinematic styles, this year’s programme bridges diverse visual languages, perspectives, and generations of filmmakers.
