International Museum Day will be marked on Monday, 18 May, at the Gallery of Matica Srpska in Novi Sad.

This year’s theme for International Museum Day is “Museums for Unity in a Divided World”, focusing on how museums can serve as bridges across cultural, social and geopolitical divisions, encouraging dialogue, understanding, inclusion and peace within communities and between people around the world.

This year’s theme also shapes the celebration of ICOM’s 80th anniversary, marking an important milestone in the organisation’s ongoing commitment to supporting museums and their role in society.

To mark International Museum Day, the Gallery of Matica Srpska will be open to visitors on Monday from 10am to 8pm, with free admission for everyone.
