Expelled by Greece’s Ruling Party, Ex-PM Samaras Plots His Revenge

At the beginning of September, former Greek prime minister Antonis Samaras seized on a newspaper report that users of the online platform of the Greek health service were allowed to specify gender options beyond ‘Male’ and ‘Female’, to include ‘Other’ and ‘Undetermined’.

Samaras was expelled from Greece’s ruling New Democracy party last year, and still bears a grudge.

He promptly took to Facebook to accuse the conservative government of promoting a “woke agenda” and echoed erroneous claims that school textbooks were depicting families with same-sex parents.

“The only thing ‘undetermined’ here is the extent of the ideological shift within the ruling party,” Samaras wrote. Greek families “need support, not redefinition”, he claimed.
