Senegal continues its strategy of strengthening its international partnerships. In this context, the Senegalese Prime Minister, Ousmane Sonko, will be on an official visit to Milan on September 13, 2025.
This mission, focused on the development of diplomatic and economic relations with Italy, is part of the Senegalese government’s objective to diversify its partnerships and attract new foreign investments to support the country’s growth. On the agenda for this trip, Ousmane Sonko will meet with key players in the Italian private sector as well as representatives of international financial institutions.
The objective is clear: to highlight investment opportunities in Senegal, especially in strategic sectors such as energy, infrastructure, and agriculture. These meetings should enable the country to mobilize additional resources to finance its development projects while consolidating its position on the international stage.
This visit will contribute to strengthening bilateral relations between Dakar and Rome. Indeed, President Bassirou Diomaye Faye had recently met with Italian officials during the TICAD 9 in Yokohama. These exchanges focused on mobility, health, and the environment, laying the groundwork for sustainable collaborations between the two countries.
