The General Director of SOGIP, Dame Mbodji, firmly denied reports of an alleged agreement with President Bassirou Diomaye Faye to join the Diomaye President coalition. In a statement released this Thursday, the former unionist condemned a disinformation campaign, assuring that the information circulated on social media is baseless.
“For several hours, false information concerning me has been circulating on social media and various digital platforms. I want to deny it with the utmost firmness. The allegations being spread are completely unfounded and are not based on any verified facts. They clearly stem from a disinformation effort aimed at damaging my honor, my reputation, and my political commitment,” he stated.

This denial comes as several publications claimed that Dame Mbodji had reached a political agreement with the head of state to join the Diomaye President coalition. Through this clarification, the General Director of SOGIP categorically rejects these allegations. Considered a political ally of the President of the National Assembly, Ousmane Sonko, Dame Mbodji asserts that no such steps have been taken and urges the public not to give credence to unverified information.
