Pauga Talalelei Pauga is Minister of Revenue and Audit Office

Pauga Talalelei Pauga of the Vaimauga 1 constituency has been appointed Minister for Revenue and Minister for the Audit Office in his first term as a Parliamentarian.

Formerly the Ministry of Customs and Revenue (MCR) Laaulialemalietoa’s Cabinet confirms the separation of Customs & Border Control from Revenue.

The former President of the Samoa Association of Sports and National Olympic Committee (SASNOC) is a Chartered Accountant and Auditor by profession.

Pauga was educated at the University of Auckland and prior to entering politics, he was a Partner at Su’a, Pauga and Associates.

Pauga played for the Samoa men’s national basketball team in 2011 and served as President of the National Samoa Basketball Association and as a Board member of FIBA Oceania.

In 2021 he was elected President of SASNOC.  After completing his term as SASNOC President in April 2025, Pauga announced he would stand for election as a candidate for the FAST Party.

The Minister lives at Laulii and was elected from his Constituency of Vaimauga 1.

Cabinet

1. Laaulialemalietoa Leuatea Polataivao Fosi Schmidt– Ministry of the Prime Minister and Cabinet and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs & Trade, the Prime Minister will also take over the Ministry of Police and Prisons, the Samoa Law Reform Commission, the Office of the Ombudsman and the Public Service Commission.

The important tourism sector may also be under the Prime Minister’s portfolio.

2.Deputy Prime Minster until March 2028 – Hon Toelupe Poumulinuku Onesemo will also take up the portfolio of Minister of Works, Transport and Infrastructure (MWTI).

The Ministry of Works, Transport and Infrastructure (MWTI) which includes the infrastucture sector powered by the Samoa Ports Authority, Samoa Airport Authority, and Samoa Shipping Corporation.

3. Hon Mulipola Anarosa Ale-Molioo will be Deputy Prime Minister from April 2028 until the end of the term in 2030. Mulipola shall also take over the Ministry of Finance. The Finance Sector includes the Central Bank of Samoa, the Samoa International Finance Authority, SNPF, ACC and DBS.

Mulipola has also been entrusted with the Ministry of Public Enterprises. Samoa’s state-owned enterprise portfolio includes 15 public trading bodies, 2 public mutual bodies and 11 public beneficial bodies.

4. Minister of Education – Former CEO of Health, Hon Aiono Dr Alec Ekeroma. Leatigaga Matafai Lauina Iiga is the Associate Minister of Education.

5. Minister of Justice & Courts Administration – Hon Fesolai Apulu Tusiupu Tuigamala is the Minister of Justice. Sala Paulo Tuala is his Associate Minister.

6. Minister of Communication and Information Technology – Hon Agaseata Tanuvasa Peto.

7. Minister of Customs and Border Control – Hon Masinalupe Makesi Pisi – Min of Customs and Border Control.

8. Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries – Hon Fuimaono Maiava Tito Asafo, with Hon Aiolupotea Misa Tony Aiolupo as Associate Minister.

9. Minister of Sports and Recreation – Hon Seuamuli Letuuga Fasi Toma, with Fiu Faaolatane Ponifasio Vasa as his Associate Minister.

10. Minister of Women, Community and Social Development and Samoa Bureau of Statistics – Hon Moefaauouo Julius Ah Kui Tafunai, with Tilafono David Hunter as Associate Minister.

11. Minister of Commerce, Industry & Labour – Hon Fata Ryan Schuster with Amituanai Malolo Tautofi Roma as Associate Minister.

12. Minister of Health – Hon Vaaaoao Salumalo Alofipo who is also the founding FAST Party Secretary. Hon Ale Vena Ale will supporte as Associate Minister.

13. Ministry of Environment – Hon Seve Anapu Te’i Fuimaono.

14. Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources – Hon Foisala Lilo Tuu Ioane, with Tea Toala Peato as Associate Minister.

15. Minister for Revenue and Audit Office  – Pauga Talalelei Pauga.
