Paratisa Gaupule is Dux of Tesese Institute and Winner of Misa Telefoni Prize for 2025

Paratisa Vili Gaupule is the 2025 Dux for Tesese and winner of the prestigious Misa Telefoni prize awarded each year to the top student of the institute.  with a cheque in the name of the student, a Samoan Bible with recipient’s name embossed on it, a miniature trophy and a collection of books.

The 38 year old mother of four joined the program in 2024 and graduated with a Diploma in Office Administration. 

The Tesese Institute is a post-school educational and training provider that specialises in office administration and computing studies.

Mrs Gaupule acknowledged God’s guidance over her journey to complete her qualification. 

“This great achievement is for God’s glory, because without Him I would not have reached this milestone.”

The Tesese Institute 2025 Dux also acknowledged and thanked her parents, her children and her husband for their support during her studies.

Mrs Gaupule is a proud mother of three boys and one girl. 

Balancing school and my responsibilities as a mother was very challenging…. I prayed for God’s help, and He gave me the strength to achieve my dreams.”

Mrs Gaupule is the daughter of Lomitusi Vili of Saleimoa and Palo Sofaia Vili from Lalomalava, Savai‘i.

 “The sky is the limit” was Paratisa’s encouragement to the youth,

“Keep studying because education opens the door to good jobs and a better future for your families.”

Paratisa’s mother, Palo, said she shed a tear as her daughter crossed the stage to receive her dux reward and thanked God for her daughter’s success.

They say it takes a village and Palo didn’t forget their “village” as she gave gratitude to their siblings, relatives, and family overseas for helping financially throughout this journey.

“Thank you to our family, village, and church for their prayers and support.”

Palo gave her daughter credit for her resilience in pushing hard in her final year of studies.

“Even with many family responsibilities, Paratisa stayed focused on her education. We are very proud of her today.”
