With the Fono leaders turning down his requests to meet, Governor Pula’ali’i Nikolao Pula says he is prepared to make an appearance before the Fono.

Appearing on 93 KHJ‘s Morning Show with John Raynar Wednesday, the Governor spoke about several issues including the Fono taking him to court, deep sea mining, spending of ARPA funds in his administration’s first year in office, board appointments and his intention to run for re-election in 2028.

During last week’s joint House and Senate session which decided to take legal action against the administration for paying directors whose salaries had been cut from the Fiscal Year 2026 budget, the Senate President had said if the Governor wants to meet he needs to come and speak before the whole Fono and not just him and the Speaker.

Governor Pula’ali’i said if this is what it takes to get the cooperation of the Fono leaders, he is prepared to go to the Fono.

The Governor also spoke about the incident involving his Chief of Staff at a recent House hearing and actions by the Vice Speaker when he was delivering his State of the Territory address in January.
