ANGER WITHOUT SIN
Ephesians 4:26–27 “‘In your anger do not sin’: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, and do not give the devil a foothold.”
We all experience anger. Scripture doesn’t deny or dismiss it. Even Jesus expressed righteous anger. But Paul draws a clear line—anger must not be allowed to turn into sin. When anger is left unchecked, it hardens the heart, distorts judgment, and damages relationships.
The warning is practical and urgent: don’t let the sun go down while you’re still angry. This isn’t about the clock; it’s about the heart. Lingering anger can become bitterness, and bitterness creates an opening for the enemy to work. Unresolved anger gives the devil a foothold—a place to influence, accuse, divide, and destroy.
God calls us to deal with anger honestly and quickly. That means bringing it into the light through prayer, confession, forgiveness, and, when needed, humble conversation. Letting go of anger isn’t weakness—it’s obedience. It protects our hearts and preserves peace.
Healthy anger seeks justice and truth. Sinful anger seeks control, revenge, or selfish gain. The difference is found in whether we surrender our emotions to Christ or allow them to rule us.
Christ frees us not only from sin, but from the grip of resentment.
Prayer:
Father, help me to handle anger in a way that honours You. Guard my heart from bitterness and teach me to forgive quickly. Give me wisdom to respond with grace and courage when conflict arises. Keep me from giving the enemy any foothold in my life. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
Have a fabulous day and a great weekend. God bless and lots’a love,
Warren
