Architectual Studies Graduate Dedicates Achievement to his Late Father

A recent graduate in Architectural Studies from Unitech in New Zealand dedicates his achievement to his late father, and wants to honour his family by returning to serve in Samoa.

Ausage Jr Vito Lauano graduated with a Bachelor of Architectural Studies, and also attained a Level 4 New Zealand Certificate in Study and Career Preparation.

Speaking to SGN he says this degree is dedicated to his late father and namesake, Lauano Asi Ausage Lauano Pa’u, who passed away in 2023. “This achievement is in honour of my Dad..”

Ausage shares that even though his father is no longer here, he continues to be a major influence in his life. “He is the central reason for my choice of career path,” he said.

Ausage Junior also acknowledged and thanked his mother, afioga Muliagatele Salā Silia Lauano, who is a long serving academic and lecturer at the National University of Samoa.

“And I would also like to acknowledge everyone who has helped me to achieve this milestone, and also my family members who traveled from Samoa to share this moment with me.”

The 25-year-old is the youngest of his parents’ six children, and proudly hails from the villages of Patamea, Fusi Safotulafai and Leauvaa.

Ausage Jnr began his education at Vaitele Uta Primary School, where he attended Years 1 to 8, before going on to Samoa College for High School.

Proud mother, Muliagatele praised God for her son’s achievement and paid tribute to her late husband.

“His legacy continues to live on through his son’s achievements.”

To her son she says, “Your name remains a living legacy of your father… he would have been so proud of the man you have become..

“If only he was here to witness you walk across that stage..”

“Through all the challenges and the late-night studies, you persevered and attained success..

“We are so proud of you, son.”

Muliagatele acknowledged the support of family members, with special mention of Ausage’s uncle, Lauano Tauti Lui Lauano, as well as relatives and friends in New Zealand and Samoa, who stood by Ausage throughout his studies.

“Appreciate the love, support and prayers of your uncle Lauano Tauti Lui Lauano, as well as all your families and friends in New Zealand and Samoa who were able to witness this special milestone.”
