Hayley Matthews, West Indies Women’s Cricket captain, is urging the Vincentian public to throng the Arnos Vale Playing Field and support the regional team as they face Australia in a three match T/20 International series this week.

Speaking ahead of the first match which bowls off on Thursday, March 19, 2026, from 6: 30 p.m, Matthews said at press conference last Tuesday, March 17, 2026, “We know the Vincy fans are always very passionate about their game and the West Indies team performing well. It will be really good if we could get out there and give them some good performances and a lot to cheer for”.

Matthews thumbed Vincentian, Jannillea Glasgow, and Barbadian Eboni Braithwaite as two young talents to look out for.

“ Jannillea Glasgow is someone who’s probably been around for the last few months now. She certainly showed some great sparks when we played against Sri Lanka again in the last series,” the skipper said.

“We got Ebony Brathwaite, who only played one match so far; made her debut last time out against Sri Lanka. “So yeah, if she gets a go this time around, it’ll be interesting to see how she goes. So I think those are two people that I’ll definitely be keen to see this time around.”

The full West Indies team reads: Hayley Matthews (captain), Chinelle Henry (vice-captain), Aaliyah Alleyne, Eboni Brathwaite, Shemaine Campbelle, Jahzara Claxton, Deandra Dottin, Afy Fletcher, Jannillea Glasgow, Shawnisha Hector, Zaida James, Qiana Joseph, Mandy Mangru, Karishma Ramharack and Stafanie Taylor.

The Team’s management unit includes Head Coach, Shane Deitz; Team Manager Sheena Gooding; Assistant Coaches- Ryan Austin, Damien Wright and Shane Dowrich.

The Physiotherapist is Ashley Stephens; Strength & Conditioning Coach, Hector Martinez Charles; Performance Coach Dr. Nadine Sammy; and Media & Content Officer Nicholas Maitland.

The second match takes place on March 21, and the third on March 23, both also bowling off at 6.30 p.m.
