INFORMATION on the composition of the Boards of Statutory and Quasi- government bodies was released at the weekend in the public domain and has been drawing flak on social media and elsewhere. The Chair, Deputy Chair and ordinary Board members were named for: the Argyle International Airport, Bank of SVG, BRAGSA, Carnival Development Corporation, Central Procurement Board, CWSA, Centre for Enterprise Development, Financial Services Authority, Housing and Land Development Corporation, Agricultural Input Warehouse, Invest SVG, Modern Port Operations Company, National Lotteries Authority, National Properties Ltd and the National Sports Council. Numerous persons on social media have been critical of many of those named to leadership positions, as well as some in the rank and file, and that some individuals have been named to sit on multiple boards.

Commenting on the issue on his weekly Monday radio programme on Monday, February 23, 2026, former Prime Minister, Dr. Ralph Gonsalves, described the proposed appointments by the new New Democratic Party (NDP) administration as “a scandal”.

“This thing is a scandal, and the people who are most in uproar are the NDP people, the NDP supporters,” the Opposition Leader said on Star Radio.
