ST.VINCENT ANDTHE GRENADINES has partnered with Inter Caribbean Airways for two years to decorate the tail of a new InterCaribbean aircraft with the national flag as it serves Caribbean destinations.
CEO InterCaribbean Airways Trevor Sadler (left), and Tourism Minister Dr Kishore Shallow (right) assist Prime Minister Dr Godwin Friday in cutting the ribbon.
Minister of Tourism Dr Kishore Shallow says this initiative is expected to enhance the pride and tourism. According to the Minister, it is recognition for SVG throughout the region. He pointed out though, that SVG is not the only country to have done this, as several other countries have placed their flags on aircraft throughout the Caribbean.
“The intention or the anticipated benefit is that this is going to be recognised throughout the region,” “It is really more than what it’s going to do for tourism, I think, is a sense of national pride for Vincentians. We all know how dear the flag is to us and to other countries as well. Their national flags means a lot, and to have our flags being flown across the region, I think it’s something that we should all be proud of” the proud minister quipped.
