THIRTY-TWO CANDIDATES will contest the November 27, 2025 general elections. This follows their successful nominations on Monday, November 10, 2025 in the 15 constituencies- 13 on the mainland, and two in the Grenadines.

The main political parties- the Unity Labour Party (ULP), and the New Democratic Party (NDP) each will be fielding a full slate of 15 candidates; there is one independent candidate, and one candidate representing the fledgeling National Liberation Movement (NLM). Doris Charles, leader of the NLM, a former SVG diplomat, will contest in the South Leeward constituency, making that a three-way race, while independent candidate, Kenna Questelles, will contest in West St George, also making that a three-way battle.

The NDP is seeking to ensure that the ULP does not gain its sixth consecutive hold on the reigns of government in what Prime Minister Dr.Ralph Gonsalves has labelled “the mother of all elections”.

Both main parties have been drawing huge crowds at rallies across the nation and indications are that they also have been sending heavily in social media advertising, and in the provision of party paraphernalia.

With less than two weeks remaining for the parties to campaign, it is expected that they will be pulling out all the stops in this the home stretch.
