SLFA to stage 40th congress this weekend

The member leagues of the Saint Lucia Football Association (SLFA) will meet on Saturday, June 6, at Bay Gardens Hotel in Gros Islet for the organisation’s 40th Annual Ordinary Congress.

Since this is an ordinary congress, there will not be any election of officers.

The congress is happening just before the third season of the Saint Lucia Semi-Professional Football League, which kicks off this month.

At least three national teams will also in action over the remainder of the year, including the men’s team in the Concacaf Nations League, the Under-14 boys in the Caribbean Football Union Tournament, and the Under-15 girls in the Concacaf Under-15 Championship.

The main agenda for this weekend’s meeting will be the presentation of plans for the year ahead for domestic and international football, as well as various reports.

During the congress, the chairman and SLFA president Lyndon Cooper will give remarks, and the 2025 National Executive Report will be presented. The leagues will also vote to approve the 2025 Audited Statements, the 2026 Programme of Activities, and the 2026 Budget.

The meeting will also look to appoint independent auditors and trustees.
