On Monday, the vibrant streets of Castries came alive as ten carnival bands launched the highly anticipated two-day parade, a celebration culminating in the crowning of Band of the Year, along with various awards.
The event was a spectacular showcase of stunning costumes and enthusiastic revelers who danced, jumped, and waved to their favorite tunes, building excitement with the pulsating rhythmic beats.
With thousands of participants joining the festivity, organizers announced the official band order, guiding the flow of yet another lively exhibition of music and masquerade through the streets.
As is tradition, a visiting French ensemble delivered an impressive display with a ‘fully-costumed’ band, featuring seasoned revelers alongside a youthful crowd, accompanied by lively Congo drums, horns, and percussion.

On Day 1, a spokesperson from the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force (RSLPF) reported that no major incidents occurred during the festivities. The RSLPF expressed their gratitude, stating, “A heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped make this a safe and enjoyable celebration, especially our hardworking officers who ensured everything ran smoothly throughout the day.”
An online post from the Government of Saint Lucia (GOSL) captured the spirit of the event: “What a feeling! What a vibe! Lucian Carnival 2026… By Air, Land, or Sea, Lucian Carnival is where it’s at!”
