Romania demonstrates its agricultural potential and reliability as a supplier to international markets. Supported by subsidies and investment programs, Romanian farmers have reached historic export levels, positioning Romanian products prominently within the European Union.
The Strategic Plan 2023–2027 and support measures have provided the zootechnical and plant sectors with:
- Over 3 billion euros for investments in livestock farms, processing units, and irrigation systems
- Coupled support schemes and transitional national aids tailored to the ovine, bovine, and poultry sectors
- Programs for welfare and biosecurity are funded by European funds and state budgets
- Marketing tools to promote Romanian products in the Middle East, North Africa, and Asia
Romania’s 2025 achievements confirm its top position in European agriculture, strengthening its role as a strategic exporter and a reliable agricultural partner within the European Union.
