Romanian Chief of Defence Staff General Gheorghiță Vlad is attending the NATO Military Committee Conference in Chiefs of Defence format, taking place on September 18 and 19 in Copenhagen, Kingdom of Denmark.
Chaired by Admiral Giuseppe Cavo Dragone, Chairman of the NATO Military Committee, the conference brings together the chiefs of defence of the Alliance’s 32 member states. Also attending are Supreme Allied Commander Europe General Alexus G. Grynkewich and Supreme Allied Commander Transformation Admiral Pierre Vandier.

The agenda focuses on implementing the decisions adopted at the NATO Summit in Ankara, with an emphasis on strengthening the Alliance’s deterrence and collective defence posture, developing and integrating new technologies, and continuing support for Ukraine.
During the meeting, the chiefs of defence will assess developments in the security environment from a military perspective and discuss the Alliance’s priorities for adapting its defence posture to current and future threats. Discussions will also cover NATO operations, missions, exercises and capability development.
The participation of Romania’s Chief of Defence Staff in the Copenhagen conference is part of Romania’s contribution to the Alliance’s military consultation and decision-making process, as well as NATO’s efforts to strengthen deterrence and defence across the entire Eastern Flank.
