The Bucharest Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIB) recognised the economic achievements of companies operating in Districts 3 and 4 of Bucharest on Wednesday, 7 October, as part of the Bucharest Top Companies Awards – District-Level Edition. The event took place in the “Carol I” Hall of the CCIB Palace.

“We continue to face an economic environment marked by challenges, changes in financial policies and a high degree of uncertainty. In this context, companies’ ability to adapt, invest, innovate and, above all, continue to create value and jobs deserves our appreciation. The Bucharest Chamber of Commerce and Industry will continue to stand alongside the business community, represent companies’ interests and promote dialogue between the business sector and public authorities. We need a stable economic environment, predictability and policies that encourage investment and private initiative,” noted Iuliu Stocklosa, President of CCIB, in his opening remarks.

The awards ceremony highlighted the achievements of companies in  District 3, one of the capital’s most important centres of economic and entrepreneurial activity. Businesses in this district operate across a wide range of industries, making a significant contribution to the development of Bucharest’s economy, job creation and the strengthening of the local business environment.

“It is a pleasure for me and for the entire community of District 3 to celebrate your hard work, initiative and perseverance as representatives of the business community. This is a recognition of achievement in general, and, more specifically, of the ideas, courage and risks you have embraced, as well as your ability to think strategically and turn the challenges and difficulties that are, after all, inevitable into opportunities for growth. Local government and the private sector can prosper only together, and District 3 reaffirms its support for all those who wish to invest and grow,” pointed out Daniel Enăchescu, Deputy Mayor of District 3.

The achievements of companies in  District 4 were also recognised. Their business activities contribute to the development of the local community and to the dynamism of Bucharest’s economy. Through their investments, the jobs they create and their ability to adapt to current economic conditions, companies in this sector demonstrate the importance of private initiative in achieving sustainable economic development.

“Almost eight years ago, District 4 embarked on a new journey, moving away from the well-established administrative mindset and setting its sights on achieving more. It was a deliberate choice and a difficult journey, full of challenges, but guided by a clear vision: to shed the old label of Bucharest’s ‘dormitory district’. Today, the results speak for themselves. District 4 has become one of the most dynamic, safest and best-organised areas of Bucharest. We have invested heavily in road infrastructure, education and healthcare to create an attractive and stable environment for business,” explained Miruna Lișcu, Deputy Mayor of District 4.

The awards ceremony was attended by entrepreneurs and representatives of companies from Districts 3 and 4, alongside representatives of local public administration and central government institutions. The event was also honoured by the presence of Ana-Claudia Țapardel, President of the National Citizenship Authority.

The Bucharest Chamber of Commerce and Industry will continue its series of events with the Top Companies Awards for Districts 1 and 6 on the 14th of October, followed by the Bucharest Top Companies Awards on the 28th of October.
