Bucharest Stock Exchange Launches BVB Arena 2026. Nominations Open Until November 15

Time:
4:11 pm

The Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) launched today, October 14, the BVB Arena 2026 edition, introducing a new evaluation and selection methodology alongside an updated path for Romanian entrepreneurial businesses. The launch event was officially marked by the traditional bell-ringing ceremony, signaling the start of the nomination phase.

BVB Arena targets Romanian entrepreneurial companies with high growth potential and capital market readiness. Through its redesigned structure, the program aims to identify and select relevant companies while creating a structured framework for direct interaction with capital market professionals.

Nominations for BVB Arena 2026 can be submitted on the dedicated platform www.bvbarena.ro between October 14 and November 15, 2026. Submissions can be made by members of the Nomination Committee, entrepreneurs (including self-nominations), as well as the public. Full details regarding eligibility criteria and selection methodology are available in the Program Regulations published on the website. Eligibility requirements include, among others, a minimum annual turnover threshold of RON 5 million and recorded net profit in each of the last 3 years of operation.

What is new to BVB Arena this year?

  • A new methodology for evaluating and selecting companies in which the financial performance of the nominated companies is analyzed in the context of the sector of activity through sectoral financial benchmarks and a relative performance scoring system;
  • After the end of the nomination stage, the members of the Nomination Committee vote and select 40 “IPO Candidate” companies that will continue in the next stages of the BVB Arena Program. They will continue their journey through 1-on-1 visits, offering the opportunity for a direct dialogue with capital market professionals. Following the visits, the Listing Potential Evaluation Sheets will be drawn up, which will represent one of the tools used by the Jury, along with the other information and criteria provided in the methodology, in the analysis and voting process. Following this process, the Jury will designate the 12 “IPO Ready” companies. The Listing Potential Assessment Sheets do not represent a certification of listing readiness, a due diligence process or an investment recommendation and do not provide guarantees regarding the listing of the company.

The path of companies in the BVB Arena 2026 Program is built around five stages: Identification -> Selection -> Connection -> Dialogue -> Recognition. After the company identification stage, the Nomination Committee will select 40 “IPO Candidate” companies, which will participate in 1-on-1 visits. Subsequently, the Public Vote will designate 3 “IPO Public Choice” companies and the Jury will select 12 “IPO Ready” companies. The companies selected in these two stages will be announced and awarded at the BVB Arena Gala.

“All the companies that become IPO Candidates in BVB Arena this year are companies established, grown and led by people who have made good decisions. They have the opportunity to meet with the partners of BVB Arena, i.e. some of the bearers of the most valuable lessons of economics learned in the last two centuries on all meridians where the market economy has been formed and evolved, they are also among those who shape the future. This interaction will strongly strengthen the entrepreneurial community in Romania, and those of the 40 companies in the IPO Candidate stage that have the courage to move to the next level, will understand that this path allows them to withstand the challenges and continuing to grow is the best recipe for resilience”, said Remus Vulpescu, General Manager of the Bucharest Stock Exchange.

The BVB Arena 2026 edition is supported by Platinum Partners – NNDKP, Raiffeisen Bank; Gold Partners: BT Capital Partners, KPMG, PwC; Silver partners: BRK Financial Group, Grant Thornton Romania, IFB Finwest; Bronze Partner: Dentons.
