The best brunch spots in the Algarve

In recent years, brunch culture has become increasingly popular across the region, offering a more modern alternative to traditional coffee spots. Many of these venues focus on fresh ingredients, creative menus, vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options, as well as bright, relaxed interiors designed to encourage visitors to stay a little longer.

Whether you are looking for an early breakfast, a late brunch with friends, a speciality coffee, a matcha latte or simply somewhere with a unique atmosphere, the Algarve now has plenty of options to choose from. In recent months, several new venues have opened across the region, adding to already well-established favourites. We have included opening hours as some of these places close during the afternoon, while others stay open into the evening.

From Faro to Lagos, here are some brunch spots worth visiting.

Faro

Chelsea Coffee & Brunch – Situated in the historic centre of Faro, Chelsea Coffee & Brunch combines homemade Mediterranean-inspired food with a modern interior and relaxed atmosphere. Outdoor seating is available, while inside, the décor is trendy and ideal for those who enjoy aesthetically designed cafés. The menu includes shakshuka, vegan bagels, smoothie bowls, salads and regionally inspired dishes, alongside a daily selection of fresh cakes and desserts. Another advantage is the easy online reservation system, which allows visitors to book a table in advance. Open daily from 8am to 8pm.

Evolution Lounge Bar & Brunch – One of Faro’s newest brunch concepts, Evolution combines a lounge-style café with a modern lifestyle space focused on sustainability and innovation. The venue places strong emphasis on fresh seasonal ingredients while supporting local growers and small-scale suppliers. The menu includes dishes such as Turkish eggs, Asian duck salad, Portuguese bites and French toasts, while craft cocktails and signature drinks also form part of the experience. The contemporary interior creates a relaxed atmosphere for both brunch and casual meetings. Open daily from 8am to 5pm.

Albufeira

Oh Là Latte – Located inside Hotel Paraíso in Albufeira, Oh Là Latte has quickly become popular thanks to its colourful dishes and relaxed atmosphere. Everything is freshly prepared to order, and the menu combines classic brunch favourites with more modern flavours. Popular choices include the Pink Hummus, Passion French Toast and Turkish Eggs.

One of the highlights is the “Snow White” pancakes, topped with whipped white chocolate cream cheese, fresh berries and pistachios. Coffee lovers can choose between a 50-50 Arabica/Robusta blend or 100% Arabica coffee, depending on their preference. Open daily from 8:30am to 4pm.

Jungle Brunch – Also located in Albufeira, Jungle is impossible to miss thanks to its playful interior filled with large teddy bears and tropical-inspired décor. The venue has become particularly popular with families and younger visitors looking for a fun brunch experience. The menu offers a wide selection, from eggs Benedict and poke bowls to sweet treats like the Kinder Bueno croissant.

Their “Jungle Board” is a good option for anyone wanting to try several different flavours at once. The venue also stays open until late, making it suitable for late breakfasts, brunches and casual evening visits. Open daily from 9am to midnight.

Loulé

Al-Gharb Coffee Roasters – Winner of the Global Coffee Awards Portugal 2025 national title, Al-Gharb Coffee Roasters has become one of the Algarve’s leading speciality coffee destinations. The team carefully sources coffee beans from some of the world’s top coffee-growing regions before roasting them locally. Visitors can also buy coffee beans and brewing equipment to recreate the experience at home.

Alongside quality coffee, they serve sandwiches, pastries and drinks not commonly found elsewhere in the region, including Homemade Chai Latte, Dirty Biscoff Latte and Golden Turmeric Latte. The café is also family-friendly, with a dedicated children’s corner, making it an easy stop for parents as well. Open daily from 9am to 4pm.

MB Cakes Brunch & Coffee – Located in Loulé, MB Cakes is easy to recognise thanks to its floral décor and elegant interior, with the flower wall becoming one of the café’s most photographed corners. The café is known for its homemade cakes and pastries, inspired by both French and Brazilian flavours and techniques.

Alongside the desserts, visitors can also find a varied breakfast and brunch menu. With its cosy atmosphere and beautifully presented food, MB Cakes has become a popular spot for brunches, coffee breaks and small celebrations. Closed Mondays. Open Sundays from 8am to 6pm and Tuesday to Saturday from 8am to 7pm.

Carvoeiro

Encci Carvoeiro | Brunch & Pizzeria – Located in the centre of Carvoeiro, Encci offers one major advantage during the busy tourist season: private parking. The spacious venue includes both indoor and outdoor seating areas, with a particularly large terrace surrounded by a well-maintained garden, making it ideal for families with children.

The stylish interior combines comfort with a modern aesthetic. During the day, the menu focuses on breakfast and lunch dishes such as matcha pancakes and crispy chicken waffles, while in the evening it expands to include pizzas and other dinner options. Open daily from 9am to 10:30pm.

Café Fino – Established in 1995, Café Fino has become one of Carvoeiro’s best-known cafés and continues to attract both locals and visitors. The café regularly updates its displays depending on the season and also hosts live music afternoons featuring singer Tiago.

The menu includes everything from salads and American-style hot dogs to larger brunch combinations with avocado toast, croissants, fresh juice and even a glass of prosecco. The relaxed atmosphere and long-standing reputation make it a reliable stop at almost any time of day. Open Tuesday to Sunday from 8am to 11pm.

Portimão

Sweet & Salt – Recently renovated, Sweet & Salt in Portimão has become especially popular for its visually striking desserts and extensive cake selection. While brunch remains a key part of the menu, visitors can also order main dishes such as linguini, risotto and fresh fish.

The café also accepts orders for special occasion cakes. With its elegant presentation and broad menu, Sweet & Salt works equally well for brunch, coffee breaks or evening desserts. Lagos

Black and White – Located in the heart of Lagos, Black and White is an Australian-inspired speciality coffee shop known for its minimalist design and focus on quality ingredients. The café serves a wide variety of breakfast dishes, fresh juices, smoothies and speciality coffee options.
