MANILA, Philippines –  Most people first encounter Leanne Mamonong as one-half of the duo Leanne and Naara, as the soloist barb., or even as Mihan from the film Open Endings.

This time, though, she’s marking a whole new chapter in her career where she makes music under her own name for the very first time — making her debut with the single “Babaero,” a reimagination of the ’80s Randy Santiago hit.
