MANILA, Philippines — Lucio Tan-led Philippine Airlines (PAL) is launching another promotional seat sale, running for a week and offering discounted airfares and extra perks for travelers flying with the flag carrier.

PAL’s seat sale will run from Aug. 24 to 30 and cover both domestic and international routes, the airline said in an advisory on Friday.

PAL has not yet revealed the routes and fares for the sale but announced that travelers can expect additional perks beyond discounted airfares, with details coming next week.

For select domestic routes, PAL said it will offer installment payment options through participating credit card partners.

It encouraged travelers to check its website, mobile app and social media pages for more information on the offer.

Tickets booked from Aug. 16 to 31 will carry a lower, although still elevated, fuel surcharge after the Civil Aeronautics Board set the rate at Level 12 amid continued volatility in global jet fuel prices, primarily due to the Middle East crisis.

Under Level 12, airlines may collect an additional P389 to P1,137 for domestic trips, down from the P423 to P1,237 in allowable surcharges under Level 13.

For international flights, allowable fuel surcharges range from P1,284.40 to P9,550.13, lower than the P1,396.74 to P10,385.42 range in the previous cycle.

PAL flies to 29 destinations in the Philippines through its hubs in Manila and Cebu and serves 40 international destinations across Asia, North America, Australia and the Middle East, making it the country’s only full-service network airline. /pai
