According to the Presidential Office, both authorities discussed various issues related to the top official’s upcoming official visit to the Holy See, scheduled for the coming weeks.
They also discussed preparations and coordination efforts related to the Supreme Pontiff’s visit to Peru in November this year.
President Balcazar’s trip to the Vatican will include an audience with Pope Leo XIV.
The Supreme Pontiff maintains a special bond with Peru due to the pastoral work he carried out in the country for several years before being elected head of the Catholic Church.
As is known, His Holiness was born in the United States but also holds Peruvian nationality.
