Peru: President Fujimori’s trip to U.S. formally authorized

According to the resolution published in the Legal Regulations section of the Official Gazette El Peruano, the Head of State will travel to New York City.

The top official will participate in the main activities during High-Level Week at the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.

The President’s scheduled agenda includes her address during the General Debate, as well as her participation in high-level meetings and events, among them those organized by the Development Bank of Latin America (CAF), the Americas Society/Council of the Americas (AS/COA), and others.

It also includes bilateral meetings with heads of state and government, as well as senior international officials.

“During her absence from the national territory, the First Vice President of the Republic will be in charge of the Office of the Presidency of the Republic, in accordance with the second paragraph of Article 115 of the Political Constitution of Peru and paragraphs 8-A.1 and 8-A.2 of Article 8-A of Law No. 29158, the Organic Law of the Executive Branch,” the resolution states.
