Peruvian mining exports totaled US$42.221 billion in the first half of this year (January-June), up 56% from the same period in 2025 (US$27.061 billion), the

reported.

The association explained that the increase in mining shipments was mainly driven by the higher value of shipments of copper (+US$6.764 billion), gold (+US$6.047 billion), and lead (+US$1.585 billion).

The mining and energy association noted that copper exports totaled US$19.455 billion in the January-June 2026 period, up 53.3% from US$12.692 billion in the first half of 2025.

Meanwhile, gold exports totaled US$15.808 billion between January and June, up 62% from US$9.760 billion recorded in the first half of 2025.

The SNMPE reported that copper accounted for 46.1% of the value of mining exports in the first six months of 2026, while gold represented 37.4%.

Mining products accounted for 74.8% of Peru’s total exports between January and June, the association noted.

The SNMPE also reported that mining shipments totaled US$6.429 billion in June 2026, up 35.2% from US$4.757 billion recorded in the same month of 2025.

The association detailed that copper exports reached US$2.626 billion last June, up 18% from US$2.225 billion recorded in the same month of 2025.

The increase in copper shipments was driven by a 41.9% rise in the metal’s price, despite a 16.9% decline in export volume compared to the same month last year.

The business association reported that gold exports totaled US$2.655 billion in June 2026, up 45% from US$1.831 billion recorded in the same month of 2025.

Exports of this precious metal benefited from a 15% increase in volume and a 26.1% rise in its price compared to the same month of 2025.
