Peru: Mincetur expresses deep sorrow over Nasca tragedy, coordinates support efforts

expressed its deep sorrow on Saturday over the tragic deaths of the tourists and crew members aboard the aircraft that crashed after taking off from Renan Elias Olivera Airport en route to the Nasca Lines area in Ica region.

In a statement, the government agency extended its heartfelt condolences.

Similarly, it expressed its solidarity with the victims’ families and loved ones.

According to the information provided, the aircraft was carrying two crew members and 11 foreign tourists.

“Through the Tourist Protection Network, Mincetur has activated the corresponding assistance protocols and is coordinating actions with the relevant authorities to provide the necessary support and assistance,” the statement said.

“It will also provide the necessary support to the embassies of the tourists’ countries of origin, in coordination with the competent authorities,” the document added.

“It should be noted that, from the very beginning, Iperú personnel have been at the crash site, continuously monitoring the situation and providing the necessary guidance. In addition, a Mincetur team is traveling to the site to follow up on developments and coordinate any actions that may be required,” the statement concluded.
